Why can't we all get along?

This morning i was headed on my way to Canada when i had to stop for a sec to write this. I was getting ready to leave when my parents handed some unfamiliar dollar bills and i asked,"What are these for?" and my mom answered,"To be able to buy things with. It was then i just found myself asking why cant every country just have the same currency and other things like that such as the metric system(Although i do know that that is mostly just the U.S.). But wouldnt it be a lot easier just to be able to not have to carry different money or different language?

  1. Of course it would be easier, but the currency and language each country carries is part of their culture and heritage. No one wants to lose a part of their past, so that's why everyone prefers to keep their language and currency.
For example, it took a lot of effort on behalf of the European Union to rally for most of Europe to change their currency to the Euro. Before, everyone had different currencies, so whenever people crossed countries they had to exchange their money.

  2. Justin, again, I have to point out that this question about currency doesn't have anything to do with our summer work.

  3. We all came into the world differently--we aren't mind readers and we all didn't think the same. We all didn't originate in the United States. The U.S. practiced things Samoa didn't. Samoa practiced things Canada didn't. And Canada does things we don't. Your post echos Captain Cook and European settlers; trying to claim things that don't belong to them and make them "all the same" or make them "all get along". Everything you wish to simplify shouldn't be changed my friend. These differences is what makes the world unique and makes us diverse. I don't agree with your post Justin, but I get what you want things to be like. If it ain't broke, why fix it?
