Mixed emotions: BRAVE NEW WORLD

If i were to experience this Utopian society i would feel just as the savage did. Constant questions would arise and i would wonder why, just as the members of the utopian society, wouldn't understand our complex society today. I feel as if we would be ruling out joy and happiness in life and what would be the point? its inhuman! Human nature creates emotions, it creates these highs and lows that we experience day to day. This Utopian society gets rid of everything that sets us apart from the rest. Life is about challenges and reaching your full potential. Yes no war or no fighting would be nice but the way this society accomplishes "stability" is truly inhuman! i dont feel as if i agree much with the idea of a society where everyone is the same, but then again we wouldnt have an idea if thats how we were raised or in this case "created" to live.

  1. havesummhope; This blog post of yours is practically identical to your later post, you just changed words and switched ideas around, but I still agree.

So a question; If you were, infact, raised in this situation, where you were involuntarily forced into one out of the 5 castes, which one would you rather be? It may sound like a no contest question which most people answer "Alpha, duh" but I think it's much more complex than that.

As you have said, Human nature creates emotions, and it creates these highs and lows we experience everyday. But it's also the way we choose to live that produces our circumstances, not just human nature. If you sulk and complain that your life is not perfect or up to par, your life will never be perfect or up to par. But if you were to be optimistic of your life and it's future even if it's raining shards of glass, than you will live a substantially successful and fulfilling life.
