Reality T.V. !

We all watch it whether its "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami" or even "Nitro Circus". It's all about reality T.V. now. What happened to the original sitcoms? They've all gone missing! And reality T.V. has taken over.

The answer? Well this is just my theory:
All other T.V. shows have now failed to catch our attention, therefore they don't get as many veiwers as they use to back in the day. It seems like the episodes get too predictable or just seem to repeat themselves, or are usually similar to other shows. Usually, we like to be surpised or watch the impossible or unexpected, but T.V. fail to entertain us with their repeated story plots and events that are always similar to other T.V. shows. And that's probably why they don't get as much veiwers as they use to.
However, with reality T.V. they give a sort of excitment and that thought of "Oh what's going to happen next?" kind of feeling right? It's basicly about someone elses life (usually a celebritys' life) and how they run their business, or just what an "average day" is for them. It's entertaining to watch someone elses life and see how they live it, or how they handle stress or kids or work. But if you really think about it, they're lives are just like ours (minus the fame) but they juggle time with family, friends, and work just like we do, right? If they are "relatable" then why do we watch it? Is it soo interesting to watch how other people deal with stress that we can relate with? Or do I just sound crazy for even bringing this up? Can anyone else see my point? Anyway, it was just a point I was trying to bring up. Reality T.V. shows have increased alot more than what they use to be. Does anyone else notice it as much as I do? Please leave a comment telling me your opinon. Is it similar to mine? What are your thought about them?

  1. Yes, i've also noticed that all the good original shows that we all used to watch are being cancelled and replaced by reality shows. I also think that the reason they are being cancelled and people have stopped watching them is because they want to watch the celebrities they look up to and see how they deal with stress and problems. I also believe more people are watching these shows because they want to relate to the celebrity. Perhaps they just want pleasure out of seeing celebrities break down or live their luxurious life the way they do. It's all a matter of perspective and the person watching the shows. Personally i really don't like reality shows they're all lame and boring and i don't see why they get rid of perfectly good shows to replace them with this garbage. well, maybe it's teenagers nowadays and the media taking over their minds. It seems like all they want to watch on t.v are reality shows and the media should be blamed for that for giving teens and other age groups the idea that that certain celebrity is "cool" or high and mighty. Overall, i agree with your opinion of reality t.v. and glad you noticed this as well.

  2. I agree with you, but at the same time although their lives are not that different from ours. I don't know about you but my life is not filled with such drama. I love reality TV, everything about it is just so entertaining because producers or whoever pick the people for the show get all the wackiest characters they could find. Yes it so unpredictable. What is going to happen next? Will she get the job? The difference with reality and regular TV is that nothing is decided yet. Anything could happen. One minute they say sure you're hired but they can change their minds and say no. In regular TV people walk away from made up situations unchanged but with reality TV everything that happens in the show sticks with that person. So, at the same time things are also being learned and new real experiences made. I do enjoy regular television still however. I mean, in what person's life will they be a detective that was kidnapped and sent to some foreign country? Some things are not going to really happen in real life and thats when the purpose of regular television series step in. Each type of entertainment both give audiences something different.
