Happy New Years! I say that just as a formality, for it should be treated like any other day. Americans love to find a way to forget though, so I am not too surprised.
I really enjoyed this article, it enlightened me. I always suggested the opposite, that Orwell's prediction would be the preliminary round, and then gradually transform to Huxley's world as the government controlled, with force, entertainment.
I must say, however, that the argument is valid. Any article that cites Oprah, especially as an evil, mind control force, catches my attention.
